For travelers always on the look for a new transportation option to get to Los Angeles, consider Tesloop, a car service, perhaps for the carbon conscious, or anyone not wanting to sit behind the wheel on the freeways.

Tesloop is a brand new service that uses Tesla electric vehicles, selling individual seats on scheduled trips. In Palm Springs, Tesloop will pick up and drop off at familiar locations like major hotels, the Palm Springs Convention Center and Palm Springs Air Museum. Some of the other Coachella Valley locations include: the Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort in Rancho Mirage, Hyatt Regency in Indian Wells and Spotlight 29 Casino in Coachella.

Depending on the day of the week, the fare ranges from $39 to $79 one-way, and the service offers perks like Wi-Fi, snacks, noise-canceling headphones and neck pillows. Sadly, no airports are listed as pick-up or drop-locations. “We are going to probably double these in (pick-up locations) then ext few weeks,” said Rahul Sonnad, CEO and co-founder of Tesloop.

“We just need to make sure we can find easily reachable marked places, with a safe place to load and unload.” Expect your driver to be extra available during most of the trip since the Tesla Model X cars are semi-autonomous, which means they can drive themselves for at least part of the trip. (Tesloop doesn’t even call them drivers and refers to the folks behind the wheel as “pilots.”)

The service also serves numerous other cities in Southern California, in addition to Nevada and Arizona. To learn more go to tesloop.com
